First Aid - Hypothermia

Hypothermia is a general cooling of the whole body. The inner core of the body is cooled so that the body can not produce heat to keep warm. This condition can be caused by exposure to low temperatures or at temperatures between 30 and 50 FF produced by wind and rain. Also contribute to hypothermia include fatigue, hunger and poor physical condition.

Since the body's tissues are cooled, the victim begins to tremble because of involuntary adaptation by the body to get to normal temperaturevital organs.

Home First Aid

Cold reaches the brain and robs the victim of Judgement and reasoning ability. Victims have feelings of apathy, listlessness, indifference, and drowsiness. The victim loses muscular coordination. The victim of hypothermia may not recognize the symptoms and deny that the doctor is necessary.

First Aid for the victims of hypothermia are:

The victim from the elements (wind, rain, snow, cold, etc..) Remove all wetClothing. Wrap the victim in blankets. Make sure that the ceilings are below and above the victim. Keep the victim's body heat generated by a fire or placing warm compresses, heating pads, hot water bottles, or even a life-saver in the ceiling with the victim. (Do not heat to the victim quickly.) If the victim is conscious, drinking hot liquids. If the victim is unconscious, try to get him or her awake. CPR isspecified if the victim stops breathing and the heart stops beating. Transportation to a medical facility as soon as possible. Remember to handle the victim gently. In extreme cases, handling can lead to death.
